My interest peaked when I realized that even though it is an entry-level device, it does not feel cheap. It is the perfect gift for myself, or anyone looking to jump into mixed reality without spending a month's rent. However, living in Hong Kong, I noticed a frustrating trend: the local prices just do not align with the US retail value of $299 USD.

I call it the "Hidden Barrier." When I checked local shops in Mong Kok and various online retailers in Hong Kong, I was shocked to find that the Meta Quest 3S was being sold for significantly more than its US equivalent.
